Description
In the 1960-70s, Canada established distant early warning radar bases all over the north in anticipation of potential missile attacks over the Arctic. Moosonee was the location of one such radar base that housed military vehicles like the one here participating in the Moosonee Christmas parade. Many military service men stationed at Moosonee inter-married with local Cree women from Moosonee and Moose Factory.
