I’m not too happy with our community these days. Seems there’s always noise even while you’re asleep. I feel afraid most of the time especially when there is drinking. More than ever, I feel more vulnerable without my parents. They were my stability. My parents never used alcohol in their lifetime. As far as I know, they never experienced it nor did they ever speak of it. I have three married siblings. We were four altogether. By the time my siblings married, I was held back from marrying by my parents requesting I remain at home to live with them. They discouraged marriage for me knowing it wasn’t always a happy outcome. I have honoured that request to this day.
