While my mother was raising us, my eldest sisters and younger brothers, I do not recall young men and women dating at a young age, it just did not occur. It was only when that girl reached a certain age that the two began communicating but no one pursued the courtship immediately. This courtship took time. It was only once you were able to fend for yourself you were deemed ready to enter into a relationship.
